Edison Lluch (Puerto Rico) – Won both heats in the 2006 season opener at Carolina Motorsports Park…Lluch is the defending series champion. AGT Quick Notes
Mosport International Raceway is a 2.459-mile, 10-turn road course located near Mosport, Ontario, Canada. The track has hosted two AGT Challenge races.
Last year at Mosport Charlie Webster and Joey Scarallo won AGT heats. Scarallo gathered the most points in the combined scoring of the two heats. Scarallo competed in a borrowed car in the 2006 opener at Carolina Motorports Park.
Former AGT winners at Mosport include Joey Scarallo (2005) and Jim Holcom (2004).
AGT Challenge events consist of two heat races. The overall winner is the driver with the most points compiled in the two heats.
The AGT Challenge conducts races in four nations across the Americas. It accepts cars from the Sports Car Club of America’s GT1 class, the now-defunct Trans Am Series and the now-defunct AGT class of the Rolex Sports Car Series. The cars are purpose-built racing versions of Chevrolet Camaros and Corvettes, Ford Mustangs and Oldsmoblie Cutlasses powered by V8 and V6 engines.
