Kick Off of Ponce Grand Prix
Ponce International Speedway Park, Ponce Puerto Rico November 6, 2006.
Monday at 11:00am a group of race cars in flat bed trucks, open trailers and street driven race cars, escorted by the Coors Light trucks and the Mech-Tech loud speaker truck, began touring the Ponce town and Plaza. After touring the town, they will continue to various Mr. $pecial supermarkets in other close by towns. The Coors Light promoters will be handing out flyers and promotional items of the Westernbank presents The Ponce Grand Prix, including discounted tickets, for the general public. The caravan will finish at L2K around 5:00pm, where they will spend the night and then continue to Old San Juan Tuesday morning for the Galleris Night and the press conference on Wednesday.
The AGT and PRRRA cars will be at Old San Juan in Noches de Galerias -Galleries Night-on Tuesday November 7. Galleries Night is the first Tuesday of the month when all the local art galleries and museums open their doors from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. This event is organized by “la Corporación para el Desarrollo del Viejo San Juan (CODEVISA)” – Corporation for the Development of Old San Juan. It has become one of the busiest nights in Old San Juan, since locals and tourists alike walk thru the brick roads seeing art works, talking to their favorite artist, attending talks by artist or just enjoying the moment and the art.
As part of the work of art exhibits we will have various AGT and PRRRA cars in the Pool Palace’s building exhibit area. We will have some Coors Light’s promoters (Models) handing out race promotional material. The cars will be left on the building overnight until the press conference from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Wednesday November 8. Then is to Shannon’s Pub one of PR largest Pubs and in places, for a Coors Light promotion, before music concert that is going to be filmed by MTV. Before the start of the concert the cars and teams will head back to L2K to get ready for the race weekend.

It promises to be a very hectic and interesting week ending with a great event, Round 6 of the American GT Road Racing Association’s Inter-Americas Challenge, the 2006 Ponce Grand Prix.
