Ponce buzzing about AGT

PONCE, Puerto Rico, (Nov. 10, 2006) – The American GT Challenge road racing series has made an impression here and the competitors haven’t even raced yet.

The build up to the event has set a hectic pace pace. Round 6 of the American GT Road Racing Association’s Inter-Americas Challenge, the 2006 Ponce Grand Prix is this weekend, Nov. 11-12 at Ponce International Raceway Park.

Earlier this week the AGT race cars, some on flat bed trucks, some on open trailers and even a few street-driven race cars, escorted by the Coors Light trucks and the Mech-Tech loud speaker truck, began touring the city and Ponce Plaza. After touring the town, they continued to various Mr. Special Supermarkets in other close by towns. Promotional items for the Westernbank presents The Ponce Grand Prix, including discounted tickets.

The caravan included a stop in Old San Juan for Galleris Night and a press conference. This event was organized by “la Corporación para el Desarrollo del Viejo San Juan (CODEVISA)” – Corporation for the Development of Old San Juan. It has become one of the busiest nights in Old San Juan, since locals and tourists alike walk thru the brick roads to see art works, visit with their favorite artist and attend seminars by artists.

The cars of the AGT and PRRRA were exhibited in the Pool Palace’s building exhibit area and the Coors Light’s models were on hand as well.
