Autódromo Las Américas Prepares for American GT
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic – The trailers and cars are already at Autódromo Las Américas for the final race of the AGT Inter-Americas Cup Challenge. Tomorrow, Wednesday November 29 at noon the press conference will kick the official ceremonies for the seventh and last round of the AGT 2007 Season.
In the conference will be RJ Lopez, 2005 RD National Campion, Woodson Duncan President of AGT, Edison LLuch Sr. 2005 AGT Champion and actual points leader, Edison LLuch Jr. 2006 Rookie of the Year and the only driver with mathematical possibilities of taking the championship from Edison Sr. Also at the press conference will be Juan López Operating Partner of Autódromo Las Américas, Máximo Arvelo the General Manager, Tony Febles COO of AGT, as well as local team members and drivers which will be competing in the AGT event, to see how is the best of the Americas.
Although all the equipment is already at the track must of the team members will not be in DR until Thursday morning, when the track will have a promoter’s track day. The official practices for AGT will start on Friday, with the first qualifying on for the weekend in the afternoon. On Saturday there will be more practices and a final qualifying also in the afternoon. The race will follow the same AGT format for this season, two races with 3 hours in between. The local Touring classes will have supporting events in between the AGT races; therefore the crowd, which is expected in the thousands, will have a great show all day long.
