12/13/2006 - RODRIGUEZ WINS FIRST AGT CREW CHIEF OF THE YEAR AWARD

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (Dec. 13, 2006) – You know you’ve had a good year if someone decides to invent an award just to honor you.

That’s what happened for Axel ‘Chen’ Rodriguez here Tuesday: In recognition of his stunning accomplishments during the 2006 racing season, the American GT Road Racing Association honored him with its first Crew Chief of the Year Award. 12/12/2006 - AGT Champion Edison Lluch Fourth in FIPA Voting

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (Dec. 12, 2006) – The honors keep piling up for American GT Inter-Americas Cup Challenge champion Edison Lluch.

Lluch, who has won the last two AGT titles, finished fourth in the voting for the Driver of the Year by the Federacion Interamericana de Peroidistas del Automovil. It marks the second straight year Lluch has finished in the top five of the poll.

12/07/2006 - Lluch Beats Son, Wins Second Straight AGT Title

SANTO DOMINDO, Dominican Republic (Dec. 3, 2006) – He did it the hard way but Puerto Rico’s Edison Lluch captured his second American GT Challenge championship Sunday, edging his son in a dramatic weekend at the Autodromo Las Americas.

The senior Lluch became the first driver to win the AGT title twice, but a series of setbacks during Sunday’s final event of the season nearly allowed his son, Edison Lluch Jr., to steal the crown away. Continue »

12/05/2006 - Méndez wins AGT Round 7 at Las Américas

Santo Domingo, DR (December 3, 2006) – Manem Méndez, in the Westernbank Camaro #3, won the AGT round 7 at Autódromo Las Américas last weekend by winning the first heat and finishing second on heat #2. This will be Manem’s first weekend victory in AGT, but he did win the first heat at round six in the Westernbank Ponce Grand Prix last November, but did not accumulated any points on heat #2, since he shared his car with rookie José Pablos, who did an excellent job finishing seventh after leading for a few laps.
