03/31/2007 - AGT Changes Management

Wilton, CT. (March 30, 2007) Woodson Duncan, founder of American GT has withdrawn from the management and operation of the International Series. The new management is lead by Tony Febles, the Series COO since 2006. Febles was instrumental in delivering a great 2006 season. He is the right choice to take the series to the next level. Duncan will still enjoy racing the series now and then, without the stress of managing it as well. When asked what brought this decision on his part, Duncan said, “I would like to dedicate more time to my family”. He later added, “Also, this will give me a chance to enjoy racing my car whenever I get a chance to go racing”. Continue »

03/16/2007 - AGT Postpones DR March Race

Even thou the ALA track owners and the new management group for the complex has reached a tentative agreement, there is still no set date for the change of management. Several differences among the track owners have made it impossible for the new promoter group to refurbish the track and prepare it for all the new and exciting plans they have in store for the ALA complex. Since January of this year, the track owners are trying to put old differences aside and finally hand the track to the new group, so that the remodeling work can start on the facilities, . That was why the event date kept being changed and postponed until us, at AGT, cannot keep putting in hold the series, and have no other option, but to postpone the race indefinitely, perhaps for late summer or early fall, when the new management can fully commit to firm date for the next race in DR at ALA. This will take some pressure of everyone involved and will allow AGT to make arrangements and plans with enough time for the rest of the series. Continue »
