LLuch Sr. Takes the Pole in AGT’s Round 1 at PR
Edison LLuch Sr. in the Coor’s Light Corvette took the pole today at El Tuque for the seasons first AGT race with a 1:13.9 follow closely by 2005 AGT, PGP winner Roly Falgueras, in the El Nuevo Día Ford Mustang with 1:14.1. Both of them representing the Puerto Rican Flag, the third place had the Dominican Republic’s flags on its roof. They were Manen Mendez in the Westernbank Camaro and winner of the 2006 AGT at Las Americas, presented by Mobil 1, how turned a 1:14.4
Fourth and fifth were two rookies, in the series, one from PR and one from DR. From PR Bryan Ortiz qualified with a 1:14.5 in the Pride of Ponce, Ford Mustang in his first outing not only in the series, but also in such powerful cars. From DR Luis Tomas Mendez turn a 1:15.3 to close the top 5 qualifiers for round 1 of the Inter-Americas Cup Challenge.
The top USA team in the qualifying was Kenny Bupp, in the Hamilton Safe Camaro, who clocked a 1:15.9 and is in seventh position.
The races will start tomorrow at 1:00pm with the first 30min heat of AGT follow by motorcycle racing, a one hour Touring race, of the Puerto Rico Road Racing Association, and the second 30min heat at 4:00pm.
