LLuch Sr. Sweeps The Ponce Pre-Grand Prix
Edison LLuch Sr. in the Coors Light Corvette edged Luis Tomas Mendez in La Caya Cigars Jaguar and Roly Falgueras in the El Nuevo Día Mustang by 0.6 sec and 2.8sec respectively in El Ponce Pre-Grand Prix at el Tuque today, March 4, 2007.
Edison who started from the pole won had to battle Roly Flagueras for 17 laps bumper to bumper until Bryan Ortiz in the Ponce Pride Mustang passed Roly, for second place, and charge Edison for almost 4 laps. Bryan had mechanical difficulties with three laps to go and Roly went by him and after Coors Light Corvette with three laps to go. The El Nuevo Día Mustang also had mechanical problems in the last lap and finished fourth. Luis Tomas Mendez in the La Caya Cigars Jaguar came second with a very impressive drive in his first outing in an AGT race. Third place was Kenny Bupp, who was celebrating his birthday and a podium finish on the same day and had a great run in his Hamilton Safe Camaro.

On the second heat Edison, Luis Tomas and Roly looked like a single car, you could not make were one started and the other ended, keeping all the fans standing for all 30 minutes of the race. Edisito LLuch in the Don Q Rum Corvette finished fourth and Kenny Bupp finished fifth on the second Heat.
