Luna Sueño to Debut their New Corvette at the Glen

(June 8, 2007) – Team Luna Sueño will debut their Z06 Corvette at Watkins Glen International for Round 3 for the AGTRRA Inter-Americas Challenge in June 15-17. “We used the original chassis of last year’s car, but it has been redone and updated completely to a Z06 Corvette” stated the car owner, Jerry Lustig. Chuck Damanski, Luna Sueño’s Crew Chief is working with his team around the clock to ensure that the car performs as it is expected and be a top contender at the Glen and the rest of the Inter-Americas Challenge Series. “We wanted to start the AGTRRA International Series form Round 1, but we got behind in the new project (Corvette). We did not take delivery of the car until the week of Round 2 at Mosport, since then, we have worked on the car long days and nights to get the car ready for Watkins Glen.” Said Damanski.

Another addition to the team will be Chris Skavnes, who will co-drive with Lustig in some events. Skavnes –a Grand Am regular- just won the ST class at Lime Rock Park on May 26, 2007 and is very eager to become a regular also in AGTRRA. Skavnes tested last year with Luna Sueño at Autódromo Las Américas and was impressed with the car. “The torque and the horsepower are incredible and with that vibration and acceleration no wonder they call those cars ground pounders” expressed Skavnes after testing.
