Edison Lluch Jr. Continues His “Choke Hold” On The Points Lead – Wins Both Races at Nashville.

Edison Lluch Jr in the Coors Light Corvette gets ready for Nasville Under the Lights

Lebanon, TN (July 8, 2007) – Edison Lluch Jr in the Coors Light Corvette won both races of Round Four of the American GT Inter-Americas Challenge at Nashville Superspeedway in the AGT’s first ever night race – “Nashville Under The Lights”. Edison Jr was followed in the first race by his father Edison Lluch Sr. –who had won the pole and held the fastest lap time for the whole weekend with his spectacular qualifying effort. However, the Sr. Lluch in the Don Q Rums Corvette finished 4 seconds behind Jr. in the Coors Light Corvette in the first heat race with Mark Shaffer finishing third on the podium in his return to the AGTRRA series with his new car – the yellow # 21 Foddrill Fabrication/Great Cars and Trucks Mustang

The second heat race saw Edisto repeat a win followed by Mark in his Mustang taking second and Frank Ciopettinni grabbing third place in his # 6 Clover Enterprises Chevrolet Camaro. With his two wins of the weekend, Edisto continues his AGT Inter-America’s Challenge Grand Championship points lead and takes the opening round of the Southern Tour to be the earlier points leader for the Southeast Division Championship title as well. He has already secured the Northeast Division Championship title with his outstanding performances in Mosport and Watkins Glen scoring the highest amount of points in those NE Division races. Will this dominance continue? Is this a case of “a chip off the old block” with Edison Jr following in his father’s footsteps – after all Edison Sr. is the series two time defending champion and his past 2 season performances were equally as dominating in effect. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree and the father son team of the Lluchs may well be living proof.

Also rejoining the International Championship is Jerry Lustig and Kris Skavnes in the Luna Sueño Corvette, which debuted in the Nashville event.

The AGTRRA continues the AGT Southern Tour with “The Shoot-Out AT Sebring” on the schedule for August 10-11, 2007 in Sebring, Florida. Will the south rise again and see a local “southerner” come out on top and challenge Edisto for the coveted SE Division title or will he continue to roll over his competition – as the AGT heats up and heads farther south into Florida for Round Five of the AGT Inter-America’s Challenge.
