Beebe Racing and Tony Ave Head to Sebring on Aug 11-12 for AGT Debut.
Tony Ave looks to add to his team’s tally of track records and race victories for GT-1/ AGT based machines at the next round of AGT competition in Sebring FL during the second week in August. Driving the Tony Ave Racing built and prepared C6 Corvette bodied TAR-RJ/001 chassis owned by Larry and Debbie Beebe, Ave has been unbeaten since partnering with Pro-Motor Engines of Mooresville, NC. “Pro-Motor supplied my Nextel Cup and ARCA engines in the past, so I knew what they are capable of,” says the former World Pro-Sprint Snowmobile champion. “We are committed to being involved as a chassis manufacturer and race team utilizing these types of race cars, so I wanted to make sure we gave ourselves the best opportunity to win.” So far in 2007 Ave holds new track records at the Sebring short course, Savannah’s Roebling Road, Road Atlanta, Daytona, and most recently Road America, where the team dominated the prestigious June Sprints. Of returning to his SCCA racing roots, Ave says “I really miss the Trans-Am series, but GT-1 has gotten pretty intense now, with Rocketsports, Derhaag, and Simms Motorsports putting out serious efforts. Hopefully AGT can capitalize on the situation and grow into something we can pursue on a full time basis in 2008. We are committed to doing the SCCA Run-Offs this season, and are using Sebring to test a slightly detuned engine package that may work better at Topeka, but make no mistake; we are going there to win.”
Round 5 of the AGT Inter-Americas Challenge is set for August 11-12 at Sebring International Raceway. For more info visit: www.AmericanGT.com , www.TonyAve.com or contact Jill Peeters at Tony Ave Racing.
