Jordan Bupp Wins Race 1 at Sebring

Jordan Bupp aboard the Hamilton Safe #9 Corvette won Race 1 of Round 5 at Sebring Int'l
Sebring, Fla (August 11, 2007) – AGT Rookie Jordan Bupp won the first of two scheduled races of the AGTRRA Inter-Americas Challenge Round 5 at Sebring International Raceway. Jordan Bupp, who is leading the Rookie of the year Championship, had the fastest race lap, let the most laps and is the first rookie ever to win an American GT race. “I was very excited about this event from day one, since I know the track and the car was set up perfectly by Pierre and the crew.” said Jordan Bupp when ask about his win. “We also consider Sebring our home track, our shop is just a couple of hour from here and I have driven this course many times.” Jordan added.
Second place went to Edison Lluch Sr., who sat on the pole but only led one lap, “Jordan had a great run, his car was really fast and he drove a very intelligent race, but as uncle Yuyo says: ‘Tomorrow is another day.’ and I will try my best as always” said Lluch Sr. referring to Sunday’s race. Sr. is second in the Inter-Americas Championship and third in the Southeast points, will no doubt regain both championships when the weekend is over as his son Edison Jr. who went into this weekend leading the points did not finish the first race and will not be able to start Sunday’s race due to a crash in turn 17 as he was attempting a pass for the lead. Kenny Bupp, Jordan’s father who is currently sitting third in the standings, started forth on the grid, ran as high as second during the race and finished third appeared to be the happiest competitor on the podium as not only had he managed a great run - but Jordan – his son – had won the race.
